This guide will provide you with a tier list of the best classes in Tactics Ogre: Reborn, including tips on how to unlock them.
S-Tier Classes
Lord
Type: Unique.
Although Lord can be used only by one character in the game, Denam Pavel, he is still considered the only true best class in Tactics Ogre: Reborn.
He can use all types of support skills, elemental magic, including Draconic, and a number of powerful melee skills, too. What’s unusual about it is that Lord is primarily a heavy fighter, who can use all types of spells.
Lord can also equip almost all types of melee weapons, including swords, daggers, axes, spears, and many others, as well as ranged weapons, such as bows and crossbows.
How to unlock Lord
This class can be unlocked only after all the battles at Barnicia are over and you’ve chosen not to keep Catiua alive.
Rune Fencer (Valkyrie)
Type: Generic.
Rune Fencer may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but one cannot deny the sheer versatility of this class. Humans, winged, and orcs can use this class to their advantage, with the most prominent characters being Ravness and Cistina.
This class combines both support and combat elements, as it can heal and buff allies, as well as deal some decent damage. Valkyrie can also cast powerful magic and use summoning spells that become especially useful in the late game.
How to unlock Rune Fencer (Valkyrie)
You can purchase it at the shop for 250 Goth at any time in the game.
A-Tier Classes
White Knight
Type: Unique.
Four characters can use this class: Gildas, Mirdyn, Ravness, and Ozma. White Knight is basically an improved Knight class very good in combat and in buffing his allies.
It can be quite formidable when using Paralysis Blade, which has a 100% chance of inflicting stun damage. Velocity Shift can help adjacent allies reduce their recovery times, and that’s why it is recommended to use several White Knights in a single self-sustainable party.
How to unlock White Knight
Once you recruit either Gildas or Mirdyn in Chapter 3, the White Knight class will be unlocked automatically.
Knight Commander
Type: Unique.
Here is another improved Knight class, which can be used only by one character, which is Ozma. Think of Commander Knight as of slightly less effective Lord in regard to its universal use of both melee and magical damage.
Its two best skills are Double Attack and Mighty Impact, both of which can deal a significant amount of damage. Although Knight Commander doesn’t have access to such a wide variety of weapons as Lord, the choice of Double Daggers is always highly effective.
How to unlock White Knight
Once you recruit Ozma in Chapter 4 Lawful Route, the Knight Commander class will be unlocked automatically.
B-Tier Classes
Ninja (Kunoichi)
Type: Generic.
If you want nothing for your class but deep focus on melee damage and mobility, then Ninja is the way to go. This class also does very well with bows and longbows.
Its most powerful skill is Ninjutsu, which includes both ranged damage and debuffing. Ninja’s melee attacks combined with double weapons always work like a charm, too.
One of the drawbacks of this class is low defense, which can be improved with the help of Steelstance ability.
How to unlock Ninja (Kunoichi)
Ninja class becomes available for purchase at the shop for 500 Goth once you complete battles in Chapter 3. Note that this class can be used only by humans.
Berserker
Type: Generic.
This is an improved Warrior class with an even stronger focus on melee damage.
It has access to a wide array of heavy weaponry, which in combination with the Sanguine Assault skill, can easily deal with several enemies in a single turn. The same goes for bosses, even the ones that create the most problems for many players.
Just like Ninja, this class has low defenses, which can be improved with the help of Dark Armor set.
How to unlock Berserker
Once you complete the battle at Xeod Moors in Chapter 2, this class becomes available at the shop for 250 Goth. It can be used only by humans, lizardmen, and orcs.
